They should be treated just the same as all office-based staff which should mean regular staff appraisals, training and personal development opportunities and being considered for promotion.
Homeworkers can be reluctant to apply for promotion if the new role means a return to the office. However, they must be informed of any opportunities and whether they can continue to work from home in any new role.
