Who hears the grievance
[ch 11: page 76]The employer will need to appoint a manager to investigate the grievance and notify the manager’s details to the employee. The employee needs to have confidence that whoever is appointed will consider the grievance fairly and impartially and take the issues raised seriously. They should not, for example, be junior to a manager implicated in the concerns raised by the grievance or work closely with that manager. The grievance process is confidential and this should be made clear to all involved.
