EHRC reviews effectiveness of PSED
In August 2018, the Equality and Human Rights Commission published its latest report reviewing the effectiveness of the PSED in England and Wales. The review contains many good examples of best practice.
The review found that 91% of the 383 public authorities in the sample had publicly accessible objectives or outcomes, which is a key feature of PSED compliance.
For some authorities, their efforts were hampered by resource limitations, including a lack of finance and available staff to deliver on the objectives. However, some were able to overcome resource constraints by working jointly with other organisations, sharing funding, expertise and responsibilities in the delivery process and making it easier to deliver the equality objectives in the most effective way.
The review is available on the EHRC website.
