Smoking shelters

The government’s Smokefree England website advises that employers are not obliged to provide smoking shelters. 


It says: “If there is a smoking shelter already in place, or an employer does decide to build one, they must ensure that the structure adheres to Smoke Free legislation in that the shelter must not be enclosed or substantially enclosed. Any buildings or structures erected must be passed by the local council who will also give guidance on their suitability under the law.”
