[ch 8: page 142]Article 19 requires the responsible person to provide employees with “comprehensive and relevant information” about the risks to them identified by the risk assessment. This includes preventative and protective measures emergency procedures and who are the competent people nominated to carry out fire safety roles. The responsible person must provide the parents of any child employed with information about the risks and the measures taken to deal with the risks. And they must provide employees with information about any dangerous substances on the premises.
The Fire Order also imposes duties on employees, under Article 23. These include taking reasonable care for their own safety and that of other people, cooperating with the employer’s fire procedures, and reporting matters of serious and imminent danger and any shortcomings in the protection arrangements.
