The HSE Management Standards
[ch 11: page 191]The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) management standards set out good management practice for preventing work-related stress. They are voluntary guidance and are not legally binding. The standards come under the headings of six “stressors” — stress factors that cause illness. These are:
• demands;
• control;
• support;
• relationships;
• role; and
• change.
There is more information about the Management Standards on the HSE website (www.hse.gov.uk/stress/standards).
