There are two main types of discrimination under the Equality Act 2010 (EA 10), known as direct and indirect discrimination. In most cases, a worker will pursue either a direct or an indirect discrimination claim, but sometimes both types of claim are present. The Act also prohibits harassment and victimisation. 




The EA 10 includes additional protection for disabled workers, including the employer’s duty to make reasonable adjustments and protection from discrimination “arising from” disability (see page 230).
