Chapter 13

Fixing a date for the hearing

[ch 13: page 462]

Tribunals have great difficulty managing their hearing schedule. As a general rule, once a hearing date has been fixed, it is very difficult to change it. It is important to make sure the tribunal knows in advance and in writing about any dates you, your witnesses, and if possible your chosen representative, are not free to attend a hearing. Take your diary to any hearing, with a note of unavoidable commitments such as hospital operations.
