Green bargaining case studies

[ch 2: page 26]

Prospect’s CMP guide highlights the example of the National Library of Scotland (NLS) where the Carbon Trust of Scotland worked in partnership with unions and management to develop the plan. The plan reduced carbon emissions by 623 tonnes per annum, equal to around 18% and resulted in cost savings of £75,000 a year. The initial investment in lighting, environmental controls and staff engagement were paid back within one year.

A full case study report can be found on the Retrofit Scotland website.

Further case studies can be found in Prospect’s Getting started guide which can be found on the union’s website.
