Operating grievance procedures

• many grievances can be settled informally with line managers;

• employees should raise formal grievances with management;

• invite the employee to a meeting and inform them about the right to be accompanied;

• give the employee an opportunity to have their say at the meeting;

• write with a response within a reasonable time and inform the employee of their right to appeal.
