Claims under the Equality Act 2010

Discrimination law is now found in the Equality Act 2010. The Act prohibits harassment, discrimination and victimisation because of race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, marriage or civil partnership, or because someone intends to undergo, is undergoing or has undergone gender reassignment. These are referred to in the Act as “protected characteristics”.
