Keeping in touch with work during shared parental leave
[ch 2: page 26]A mother and her partner can both work up to 20 days during their shared parental leave, in the same way as keeping in touch (KIT) days during maternity leave. This option of shared parental leave KIT days is only available provided that the employer agrees for work to be done on these days. These days are in addition to the 10 KIT days that can be taken during maternity or adoption leave. There is no statutory right to pay during these days but this can be negotiated.
