Returning after ordinary maternity or adoption leave
[ch 6: page 65]An employee who wants to return to work within the first six months of leave (ie during or at the end of ordinary maternity or adoption leave) must give at least eight weeks’ notice of their planned return date. They are entitled to return to exactly the same job that they were employed to do before the absence, on the same terms and conditions. This right is unaffected by adding up to four weeks’ unpaid parental leave.
