Some cases go to the ordinary courts rather than to the tribunals. For example, police prosecutions for offences to do with picketing go to either the Magistrates’ Court or the Crown Court, depending on the severity of the charge (see Chapter 9). Claims for breach of contract if the employee is still employed go to the County Court or the High Court (see Chapter 3). There is a general legal principle that, if you bring a claim in one court, you cannot then take the same claim to another.
