Employment tribunal fees
From summer 2013, workers are to be required to pay a fee to use the employment tribunal. The Ministry of Justice has published a list of proposed fees for the different kinds of claim.
A worker who wants to claim that s/he has suffered a detriment or was dismissed for exercising the right to be accompanied, or to act as a companion will have to pay a fee of £250 to issue the claim, followed by a further £950 for a hearing.
Unions have branded the plan to charge fees to workers a “disgrace”.
