Confidentiality
This is a complex and difficult issue. In the book Bullying and emotional abuse in the workplace, the authors Jon Richards and Hope Daley say:
“Confidentiality is a difficult balance to achieve, but must be maintained so far as is consistent with progressing the investigation. An investigation is just that, it seeks to discover the truth in as open manner as possible while restricting allegations which could linger. Nonetheless, it is to be expected that gossip and rumour will happen, and after the completion of the procedure it may be necessary to have wider discussions with other members of staff to ensure that all are aware of the outcome and reasons behind it.”
