Remedies for non-compliance

The regulations provide a mixture of employer duties and workers’ rights. Duties on the maximum weekly working time limit, night work and health assessments for night work are enforced by a range of enforcement bodies. Rights to time off, rest break entitlements, paid annual leave (and “adequate rest” for mobile workers) generally have to be pursued by individual workers through the tribunal system.
