Expert evidence

[ch 5: page 30]

Evidence from an expert on a particular subject is sometimes required. This is fairly common in relation to medical evidence if there is a dispute over whether the claimant has a disability. A medical expert may produce a report and appear as a witness. It is usual for a joint expert report to be prepared, with the cost borne equally between the parties.
