Miscarriage sufferer gets meagre payout

A welder who won a sex discrimination claim against her father's company after raising safety concerns while pregnant has been awarded only £7,500 for injury to feelings at a remedy hearing.

When she discovered she was pregnant, Suzanne Bunning requested a transfer to less physical work, but her employer carried out a risk assessment and concluded that her job was not high-risk. She later miscarried.
