Sickness absence

Yet another report focusing on sickness absence levels in the public sector has been published, this time covering the Department for Transport (National Audit Office, 6 June). Norina O'Hare, PCS national officer, described its evidence of attacks on driving examiners as "shocking". This, together with job cuts, increased workloads and stressful work conditions was the "true story" behind the figures, the union said.
