Check-off campaign
Civil service union PCS has launched a campaign to defend “check-off” — the payment of union dues directly from members’ salaries. It is asking members to sign a letter to deputy prime minister Nick Clegg to protect their right to pay their subs in this way.
The Cabinet Office has written to each government department stating that check-off is “not desirable” and asking them to review the long-established system.
