Slovenian unions consider action against cuts

Public sector unions in Slovenia are also considering action against government plans for budget cuts.

The government is looking to reduce the public sector wage bill, possibly through reducing payments linked to seniority as well as cuts to other pay additions.

Dušan Semolic, head of the largest union confederation ZSSS, said the government “should not be focussing on expenditure and cutting workers’ rights but on revenues”.
