Jobless figures fall
Under the Labour Force Survey (LFS) count, unemployment fell by 63,000 to 1.96 million in the three-month period ending October, compared with the previous period’s total of 2.02 million.The unemployment rate fell to 6.0% from 6.2%.
The claimant count, which only includes those on Jobseeker’s Allowance, saw unemployment fall by 26,900 to 900,100 in November. The joblessness rate dipped to 2.7% from 2.8%.
