Hazards Campaign Charter

The latest edition of the Hazards Campaign Charter setting out the National Hazards Campaign's health and safety demands on the government is now available. The Campaign is a national network established in 1988, drawing together hazards centres, occupational health projects, health and safety groups, trades councils' safety committees, specific campaigns and individual health and safety activists.

The demands include imprisonment for bosses who negligently kill their employees, stronger rights for trade union safety representatives, stronger enforcement of safety and environmental laws and government action on repetitive strain injuries (RSI) and stress at work.

The charter is available, price £1 (discounts for bulk orders), from the Greater Manchester Hazards Centre, 23 New Mount Street, Manchester, M4 4DE. Tel: 0161 953 4037. It can also be downloaded from the London Hazards Centre's website at www.lhc.org.uk.

The 11th National Hazards Conference is taking place at Durham University from 7-9 April. Registration forms are available from the Trade Union Studies Information Unit (TUSIU), Mari House, Old Town Hall, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, NE8 1HE. Tel: 0191 478 6611.
