Global Covid response needed
The BMA doctors’ union has backed a call by more than 320 scientists and public health experts for the government to allow low- and middle-income countries to manufacture Covid-19 vaccines, tests and treatments for themselves.
They say the UK, the European Union and Switzerland, are blocking international efforts to suspend intellectual property rules that have the support of more than 130 countries.
