Polish teachers

Polish teachers may again be in dispute this autumn. The largest teachers’ union, the ZNP, has written to its members asking whether they agree with the union announcing the formal start of the disputes procedure, which could culminate in industrial action.

The ZNP is asking for a 20% pay increase for all teachers from September at a time when the government is offering a 9% increase from January. Inflation is currently 16.1% (August).

Polish teachers were on strike for almost a month in April 2019.
