EU: Equality index
EU agency the European Institute for Gender Equality has published its gender equality index for 2022.
The index attempts to measure the extent to which the positions of women and men are the same over a range of areas.
On a scale where a score of 100 would represent complete equality, first-placed Sweden has 83.9 points. In second place is Denmark on 77.8 while the Netherlands, on 77.3, is third. In bottom place is Greece with 53.4.
