As more information providers and media sources make their material available on the internet, the number of stories of specific interest to trade unionists is rapidly growing.

The LabourStart site at www.labourstart.org has correspondents around the world who contribute regular links to stories from Brazil to Zambia. In addition to covering strikes and disputes, they carry links to stories of more general interest to trade unionists, such as the recent debate over whether .union should become a domain name alongside the familiar .com and .co names.

A similar but less comprehensive service is provided by LabourNet at www.labournet.org.uk. The emphasis here is on publicising disputes, and the site has its origins in building international support for the 1995 Liverpool dockers' strike.

If you want to find more details on a particular dispute or issue anywhere in the world, visit the World Trade Union Directory of The Cyber Picket Line at www.cf.ac.uk/ccin/union/ where you will find the most comprehensive international directory of trade union links anywhere. For up-to-date coverage of disputes in Britain, you can visit the appropriate union website or look at the industrial pages of the online edition of Socialist Worker at www.socialistworker.co.uk.
