Bank unions merge
Members of AXIS, the union for AXA Sun Life staff, have voted to merge
with the 180,000-member finance union UNIFI.
The move is in response to the company's policy of outsourcing jobs to
India, with the potential loss of hundreds of UK jobs says AXIS general
secretary Terry Keefe.
Meanwhile UNIFI has been formally recognised as an Investor In People.
UNIFI is the first trade union to achieve full accreditation in the
government-run award.
