9. Whistleblowing

Whistleblowing provisions introduced by the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 and the Public Interest Disclosure (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 protect employees and workers who disclose information about certain types of alleged wrongdoing at work.

They give workers the right not to be subjected to a detriment, victimised, or dismissed for making a protected disclosure (blowing the whistle).
