New Acas guidance, How to manage collective redundancies, was published in April 2013 and is available to download from the Acas website (www.acas.org.uk/media/pdf/c/n/How-to-manage-collective-redundancies.pdf).

See also Handling large-scale redundancies (www.acas.org.uk/media/pdf/h/3/Handling-large-scale-collective-redundancies-advisory-booklet.pdf)

The Acas Code of Practice, Disciplinary and grievance procedures (2009) (see Chapter 10: Dismissal) does not apply to ordinary redundancy consultation meetings. However, it does apply to individual grievance meetings about the redundancy process alleging, for example, discriminatory treatment or unlawful selection.
