Increase in recognition claims forecast
This year is likely to see a “significant” increase in the number of applications for statutory recognition to the Central Arbitration Committee (CAC), according to Acas chief conciliator David Prince. He told a conference at the TUC earlier this month that the CAC had received the same number of claims as the whole of last year with five months still to go.
He also said that Acas advisers around the country were having more involvement in recognition disputes. The CAC encourages parties to go to Acas at an early stage in recognition disputes.
