Young unemployed

A commission on youth unemployment, to be chaired by Labour MP David Miliband, has just closed its initial call for evidence.

The commission was set up by ACEVO — the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations — in response to rising unemployment rates: one in five young people are now out of work.

The commission will consider views on the government’s plans for tackling youth unemployment; solutions to the problem and how these solutions can be funded.
