Inflation rises

The two main inflation measures were higher in March, Office for National Statistics figures show.

The annual rate of inflation — as measured by the Retail Prices Index (RPI) — was up to 1.6% from 1.3% for each of the previous two months.

Inflation under the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) was also higher. The annual percentage increase for this measure was up to 0.5% in March from 0.3% the previous two months.
