Croydon Trams pay deal

ASLEF train drivers’ union members at Croydon Trams are being balloted on a revised three-year pay offer. The deal pays 2% on salary backdated to November 2009, with the abolition of the lowest rate for new drivers and a £350 lump sum payment.

In November 2010 there will also be an agreed increase of RPI (Retail Prices Index) inflation plus 0.5%, subject to an underpin of £525, with a reduction of a half hour in the working week to 37.5 hours, and three extra days’ holiday. From November 2011, the increase will be RPI plus 0.5% with an underpin of £440 and a reduction to a 37-hour working week. The union has suspended all threatened industrial action.
