Police get 3.5%

Federated ranks up to and including Chief Constables received a pay rise of 3.5% with effect from 1 September under an arrangement linked to pay rises outside the public services sector.

Police constables now enter the service on £17,733 rising to £19,842 on completion of initial training, and £21,015 on completion of two years' service. Pay progression above that level is dependant on satisfactory performance, and potential maximum pensionable pay for a constable is £28,881.
