UNISON activists bring in members

The recruitment drive in public services union UNISON is paying off, according to its activists' magazine InFocus.

In its Eastern region, for example, the union has handed out 2,000 recruitment packs and visited major local government and education sites.

"At Bedfordshire County Council, reps talked to 600 staff, 270 packs were given to non-members and we recruited 39 new members and two new stewards," said the region's Ann Vinden.
